Transport Canada Civil Aviation strengthens its involvement in the project
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming experts from Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) to our Montreal offices for a familiarization meeting, mainly on the subjects of propulsion (panel 07) and operational safety (panel 12). The visit was part of the familiarization phase of the joint certification process with the two authorities, EASA and TCCA, scheduled for completion in April.
The main objective of this meeting was to enable TCCA teams to familiarize themselves with our propulsion system, and more specifically with the generation of in-flight electrical power by the turbogenerator developed jointly with Pratt & Whitney, Safran and Honeywell.
During the day, our teams presented the project, its applications in Canada and the systems developed by our North American partners. We also presented our airship’s architecture, performance and failure modes to ensure a thorough understanding by TCCA.
Our warmest thanks to everyone involved for their commitment and expertise. This visit illustrates TCCA’s involvement in our project and the interest of its experts in the new forms of mobility that are essential to enable the decarbonization of industry.
Next event: the visit of the EASA and TCCA teams to our Suresnes facility in France in early April for the closing meeting of the familiarization phase. This important milestone will culminate in the issuance by EASA and TCCA of a certification basis common to both authorities, the GAS issue 2 special condition, enabling us to secure our certification basis with a view to obtaining a Type Certificate.
