INTERNSHIP - DEVELOPMENT OF A PRIMARY FLIGHT DISPLAY FOR OUR FLIGHT SIMULATOR

Internship Suresnes

WHO WE ARE

We design today and we will build and operate tomorrow a fleet of airships, the LCA60T, intended for cargo transport. Capable of loading and unloading up to 60 tons of cargo (wood, wind turbine blades, containers, mobile hospitals, etc.) in hovering flight, with a reduced environmental footprint, this transport system is unprecedented.

At FLYING WHALES, we have a bold vision that brings together more than 180 pioneers and about 40 partner companies. These pioneers of the 21st century, men and women, bring their desire, their passion and their know-how every day to give birth to a new transportation solution, but also to an idea. The idea that societies must be able to continue to create links in order to develop.

This is the mission that FLYING WHALES has set itself: to open up isolated regions in the world while helping to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector thanks to a low-carbon aircraft.

Would you like to help us write one of the pages of aeronautics history?

Here is the pioneer we are looking for:

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for an INTERN TO DEVELOP A PRIMARY FLIGHT DISPLAY FOR OUR FLIGHT SIMULATOR, to join the Crew Environement Team in Suresnes.

YOUR MISSIONS:

The Crew Environment team is looking for a passionate and motivated intern for 6 months, to design a Primary Flight Display (PFD) that will be integrated into our cockpit simulator using a software tool such as Air Manager or VapasXT.

The PFD is a crucial instrument that presents critical flight data such as altitude, speed, heading, and attitude information. This project focuses on reproducing an existing PFD design and introducing modifications based on mission types and pilot feedback gathered during simulator testing.

If you are driven by curiosity and eager to engage with a major industrial project tackling new technical and environmental challenges, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact and gain invaluable experience in the aeronautical industry.

You will work closely with the Simulator Leader to help shape the future of this incredible flying machine.

Missions Description:

  • Requirement Analysis: Understand the functionalities and design of the existing PFD and analyze the new features requested by the pilots and HMI teams.Design and Development: Create a functional Mock-up of the new PFD using Air Manager or VapsXT byDo the implementation of the functions (altitude, speed heading, artificial horizon, etc.) as per the existing PFD, and the new features.

  • Test and Integration: Integrate the developed PFD, validate the behavior and the performances.

  • Documentation: Technical Note explaining the development, and record changes and justifications.

YOUR EDUCATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field.

YOUR COMPETENCIES AND QUALITIES:

  • Good knowledge of Air Manager or VapsXT or similar HIM tools.
